Rivial Platform - Getting Started Guide
The Rivial Cybersecurity Management Platform allows users to simplify cybersecurity management, accurately measure risk, and automate compliance. It does this by integrating security functions and external data sources to provide a single pane of glass for cybersecurity program management, continuous updates, de-duplication of risk and compliance efforts, and automation of routine tasks.
The guide below prioritizes specific steps to take first, to get the most value out of the Rivial Platform in the shortest amount of time.
An alternative approach to the prioritized list below: go to Program > Program Report and generate a report. Scroll through the mostly blank report and decide which modules should be filled in first. See Step 5 below for more details.
🌱 Getting Started Action Plan
- Step 1 - Roles and Users
Setup user roles, import contacts, and create users to get the rest of your team using the platform.
This step is complete when your users are created and assigned to the appropriate roles.
- Step 2 - Findings and Action Items
Import existing Findings and Action Items so you don’t miss important items being tracked and reported to executives.
This step is complete when you can comfortably report the status of findings to executives.
- Step 3 - Evidence
Setup compliance evidence to get stakeholders started on the ongoing features of Risk and Compliance underway.
- There are two methods of enabling automations for Continuous Compliance and Real-Time Risk:
Option 1: enable automations one at a time within each Evidence item.Option 2: enable automations for all Evidence at the same time.
This step is complete when all Evidence items are assigned to one or more Points of Contact.
- Step 4 - Risk Assessment
Review the risk configuration settings for accuracy. Add information systems and perform risk assessments on each system.
Your Rivial consultant should have setup Risk Config during your onboarding. This step is useful to review what is in place, and what may need to be adjusted in the future.
This step is complete when you can comfortably report risk assessment results to executives.
Step 5 - Board Report
At this point you should be getting an extreme amount of value from the Rivial Platform. The next best step will depend on your goals and unique situation. To decide what’s next, go to Program > Board Report and generate a report. Scroll through the mostly blank report and decide which modules should be filled in first.
